Hi,

My husband has also been harrassed by the alledged lawfirm of Laurence A. Hecker. They have been calling us 2-4 times a day & night trying to reach us. I did not answer for a long time, because I thought it was a telemarketer. I do not answer calls normally unless I know who it is. Anyway, I decided to answer one day and they said that my husband supposedly bought a car for around $10,000 and financed it through GMAC under the name of JW Enterprises. They had his social security number and his name and our address so I told them I would have my husband call them back. That was my first contact with Hecker. Then a couple of days later we got a letter from them stating the same information. Today, my husband talked to a guy there and told him that we did not buy this car, never heard of this JW Enterprise company and we believe it was identity theft. The guy was really nasty to us and told us he does not believe us and that he thinks we are lying. He said if we agree to give him $5,000 by Friday the debt will be free and clear and off my husband's credit report. He said it is on my husband's report (probably not true, we are checking now). He said the car was a Chevy Ventura purchased January 26, 2003 and sold on August 12, 2004. I told him we have three vehicles all paid for and not worth more than $2,000 each which is true. My husband has never owned this car and did not do this loan. The guy said someone with his picture ID bought the car. These are all lies. I am 99.0% sure this Hecker guy is a scammer. I have come to this conclusion after doing a search on Google and discovering that other people are having similar problems with him too about loans they never did. These people get people to send them money because they are afraid of the consequences if they do not. My sister said the same thing happened to her friend and they claimed to be a lawyer and were gonna send the police after her, regarding $500 worth of magazines she had never bought. They also had her cell phone number, address and social security number. I believe this is the newest type of scam, pretending to be a lawfirm and then scaring people into sending them money. DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY OR GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOURSELF. The guy who we talked to today was arguing with me and said, "We are lawyers and we are too busy to argue with you about this on the phone, we will just take you to court." Then later, the same guy told my husband that he was not a lawyer, he just worked for one. We caught him in several other lies also. He said his name was Gabe Hoffman and we are supposed to let him know by Friday if we are going to pay him or not. Of course we are not paying him, it is not our debt! I am going to turn him into the Attorney General's office ASAP. I hope he rots in hell or in jail, either one is ok with me! mad.gif
