I own a Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Payments ran smoothly for the first year and a half. Then Mitsubishi turned their accounts over to a company called SST. Now, I can no longer speak to Mitsubishi directly. SST started calling me; harrassing me about basic information that they were supposed to have already. They now claim that I owe them payments that I've already paid. I sent them cancelled checks to prove that my payments are up to date and they still say that I owe more $$. I'm sure this has totally screwed my credit up. To make matters worse, they are now trying to repossess my vehicle. They are the most incompetent, ignorant group of people I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Any advice and how to handle this situation.

I would simply sue them in small claims for each time they screw up. Hopefully you kept a a time line, as well as all documentation. The paper work for small claims is real simple. Then for each infraction, sue htem like $3k. after they reposses your vehicle, then consult a lawyer, then sue them again, this time for alot more . should ba simple and closed case, and I'll bet a lawyer would take you on contingency for that

MMCA has for years, let SST handle their accounts.
And yes they are extraordinarily difficult to deal with.
I myself have one mitsu account serviced by them. PITA
