Wow... Where has this board (and you GENIUS GURUS ) been all my life?? If only I had run across y'all years ago!

I am a NEWBIE....Just starting out here. You will probably see a lot of me as I have A LOT of ground to cover. OKAY, step ONE!...

I opted out for myself (and directed DH to do so also) last night! I have been deleting errors in addresses...and after looking around here will attempt to delete the older but valid addresses.

??: How far back should I go in requesting deletes... I was thinking nothing older than 5 years. Should I go more/less...I can give more details if someone is willing to advise me.

I quess what I am asking is if there are any suggestions in HOW FAR to go in attempting to remove old addresses??IE. how hard do I try to do this & how many do I try to get rid off...etc. Currently they are all accurate, with maybe slight inconsistency (in apt # etc.)

Do I try to Leave ONLY last (*) years...ONLY last (x#) of addresses of info.??? I'm sure my CA situation would influence recommendation...any thoughts??

It isn't a question of how far back you should go, or how many you should delete. As a rule of thumb, before starting your credit repair, you should TRY to get ALL address that are tied to NEGATIVE TL's deleted. If you have positive TL's tied to an old address leave it alone. The reason for deleting the addresses is so the CRA's cannot automatically match your address to a TL. If they can, they won't perform a real investigation, they'll just match your name and address to the TL and verify it.
