Hello,
I am considering using a cccs, but I need to know something....my daughter is in her 4th year of college. We need to obtain a plus student loan for our share of her cost of attending school. My understanding is that while I am in repayment I can't obtain credit.....does this mean that if I get a dmp that I will not be able to apply for a student loan for my daughter?

Thanks!

Not necessarily. PLUS loans require "good" credit, but not excellent credit. You may wish to contact a lender and ask-

The credit counselor may recommend that you don't open new credit, but it's just that- a recommendation.
Your creditors won't toss you off the plan or anything like that.

If you are denied a PLUS loan, the borrowing limits for GSL's increase for your daughter, that may be another option.

Well aside from the GSL, what could be her other options?... smile.gif

Does she qualify for any grants, scholarships or private student loans?
