Heres the deal
I bought a car last week and traded in my truck, I also told them I would give them 1500 for a down payment.
Well all the paperwork was signed, I have my car, they have my truck, and I never gave them the 1500, they never called, nothing.
I even went by a couple days later and asked if they would go ahead and top off all the fluids, I taked to the finance guy and the guy that sold me the car, all they said was thanks for buying and to have a great day and enjoy the car.
so what happens now, obviously I should let them know of the mistake and pay the 1500, but everybody is telling me just to leave well enough alone.
So marv, whats the deal?

Yea, I know I should pay, but what if they never caught it?
8 years ago when I got my truck, I was supposed to give them a lawnmower (haha) as a down payment, they were going to give me 1k, they gave me the 1k and I (my dad) never gave them the mower...

I've forgotten to collect the downpayment a few times when eeryone's rushing me.
It's on my checklist. Contract doesnt go anywhere in my store, untill the downpayment is collected. Not gonna commit fraud.

Don't spend the money. They're probably going to catch up with it at some point.
