If you are married and apply for an auto loan separate from your spouse, are you able to list 'household' income (i.e. your + spouse's income)? I'm trying to convince my DH that he cannot apply for a loan w/o me and still use my income on the app.

I have never seen an application for an automobile loan that asks for household income. All of the applications for automobile loan that I have ever seen ask for individual income.

Of course this has always been a topic of conversation, and I've requested clarification a number of times from many of my lenders. You can NOT use spousal income unless the spouse is also on the application.
