I applied for one of those "blank check" auto loans last night, and was surprised to see that I was flat out denied for both. My TU/EQ is clear of derog except a $71 collections, with myfico showing at 701 for EQ. My EX has paid CO from Amex and Discover + multiple CL with $0 balances. I was expecting a higher APR, but was flat out denied.... This credit tightening is frightening. I haven't decided the car I want to get yet, so I havent gone straight to the dealer yet. Anyone know any auto loan places that dont pull EX?

from my recent experience the credit crunch has not effected automotive. I would go to a dealership and let them do what they do

I'm in the auto industry and it most certainly HAS affected the business as well as the financing end of it.

I was not refering to sales. Let me rephrase, the current crunch has not hindered ME from aquiring a new automobile. Chris may i ask in what ways it has affected the financing ?
