I am buying a new car and got my own financing before I went in to the dealership. Great, I dont have to mess with the haggle of a finance manager and the such! I am supposed to bring in my paperwork tonight to buy the car. He needs to verify my payoff on my trade in vehicle. He requested my SS# and DL# for title work?? I dont want to give the salesman my senstive info if he doesnt need it. I think he is going to try and run the numbers through for a loan through their finance dept. If they do, they will lose this sale.

With a customer who has funds to pay for the car from sources other than those affiliated with the dealership, one of the last things I want to do as a F&I manager is waste my time and money and pull your credit file(s).

Some states require either your driver's license number and or your social security number in order to complete the tag title work.

You may live in one of those states.

Thanks Marv
