I was pre-qualified for the 07 C 230 and my scores are in the mid 600's, that was a little over six months ago.

Didn't get the car. Good luck.

If your income checks out you should be able to get into a lease with a 660. I believe they have the same underwriting critirea as Chrysler/Dodge.

I believe Marv is a Chrysler guy. He can probably give a more accurate picture.

off topic I know but have you looked at the lexus, bmw, or acura products in that same price range? MB has a reliability problem, especially with the C class.

In that same class of car I would URGE you to look at the Lexus ES. A whole lot more bang for the buck, less $$$ in maintenance, lower sticker and no reliability problems.

I agree. plus the ES will burn 87 octane with no worries. MB requires high octane.

The ES is a much bigger car and will not have the same driving experience. A comparable Lexus would be the IS.

On the new C, I don't know what it's like at every dealer, but the dealer I went to had a $6000 markup on the car. This is disastrous on a lease ($200/month or so extra on a 36 month lease).

If you're looking for a C350, I'd actually take a look at the BMW 335, which is significantly more powerful and has MUCH better lease rates.

Take a look at the Acura TL... a lot of car for the money.

With all due respect to previous posters, the OP asked about lease qualifications, not what to buy. A Lexus or Acura, or any Japanese "luxury" marques will not provide the same level of quality and performance the C350 will, and, IMO, are much lower cars. A neighbor of mine just picked up an '08 C300 Sport, the model just under the C350, for his wife and both are completely pleased with the car. It's beautiful. While I may not be able to offer any answers to MB's lease qualifications, I hope the OP enjoys his/her new C350 if they get it good.gif

LOL, pot calling the kettle black.

Re Quality and Performance - they are 2 different things - anyone who considers Lexus and Acura "Much lower" than a Mercedes in Quality has much to learn :-)

They will have an internal score card that assigns a Tier. Fico will only play a small part in the approval.

good luck.
