I moved here from Canada a few years ago. I couldn't even get a credit my first year here due to my ongoing immigration situation. Once I got my permament residence status, my Credit union gave me my bank account, car loan and credit card. Basically I was starting from scratch.

What will the new bike loan do to your DTI?

What will the new bike loan do to your DTI?

Thanks for the response.

My current DTI is 17%. My auto loan is $297/ month and have had the loan since may 05, and I have about $1100 in credit card balance that will be paid off in full within 2 weeks. I have about 7 credit cards with credit limits totaling about $5000.
I've only had most of them less than a year, a couple around 2 years. Building my credit has been a slow process so far. My Credit union really helped me out to get my first auto loan. I make enough money to pay for the motorcycle. I can easily handle a $300 monthly payment. I will either got my Credit Union, or through a dealer for my bike loan. I just don't want another hard pull on my file if my loan acceptance chances are slim.

Thanks for your help.

just to be safe, check with your credit union loan office first.

With over one year of satisfactory car credit on file, I'd tend to say approvable.

Just an update,

I applied with Suzuki (HSBC) on Sept. 30th and was approved with a Fico score of 674 when I applied. I was approved with a $13,500 limit for the Suzuki Credit card. The terms are 7.9% for the first 2 years, then their default rate for the remainder until paid in full. I went on a credit card app spree right after I got the loan and have been approved for several credit cards. (my credit score took a 15 point hit when my first credit apps hit my credit report, my fico scores have since gone up to 692 with some of the new accounts showing up now.

I now have an Amex Blue Cash ($5000) and a visa from my credit Union ($20,000), both with 5.9% balance tranfer rates until the transfers are paid off. I will be transfering some of the Suzuki Card balance to these cards. The rest I will transfer to some other cards with 0% for 12 months. I will end up paying very little interest overall.

Thanks again to the members for their help.
