Ok, I'm not sure what forum to post this in, if it's the wrong one I'd appreciate it if you pointed me in the right direction. I am currently looking at buying a new car (well new to me). There are a couple problems. First off, I'm only 18 and I haven't gotten a credit card or anything, so I have no credit at all built up. The other thing is the car is a 1976 so it's not like I can get regular auto financing for it anyway, I need like an unsecured loan as I understand it. My brother has suggested I get a credit card and build a little credit then try, but the only reason I need this loan is because I want to buy this car now, lest it be sold. I can come up with the few grand for the car in 6 months or so, it is just I'm sure it will be sold by then, so waiting to build up credit with a credit card will have the same effect as just waiting to save up I'm sure. Is there any way I can get a loan now? Thank you very much!

Become an AU on several older accounts. within a month or so you will have a great credit history... with "length"...

Hmm, I'm not sure if I can do that though. My mom always claims her credit is bad and that is why she can't cosign on a loan or what have you, and I'm not sure I know anyone else that could help me...
