Please leave any comments that your feel may be pertinent and may lend added weight for a favorable outcome.....Marv can I finance through GTE FCU ( is it true they pull ONLY EXPERIAN, my EX file is clean) with 6-7k down on a final price of 18k....financing 12k for this vehicle ...is this a done deal MARV.??? YOUR EXPERT HELP WILL HELP MY FAMILY...AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR VALUABLE TIME.

You will need to become a member with GTE FCU first.

Possibly the best bet would be to go to a dealer who has GTE FCU affiliations.

1. Putting almost 33% down - i.e. $6K on a $18K vehicle probably will make financing a "done deal". The only question will be the interest rate and length of loan.

2. (And this should be considered a minor factor) If you can get your card utilization down to 0% and have that report on your CR then maybe -(the improvement will probably be most significant on your clean Experian CR)- your credit score increases. However, you probably should not significantly deplete your downpayment to pay off the credit cards. If your auto loan is auto approved then sometimes scores of 660 or 680 are considered magic numbers.

THANK YOU BOTH MARV. & HOAPRES...........

As to becoming a memeber of GTE; I have thought of walking in the door with $10,010 wrapped in a rubberband "Hi, I want to be a member, deposit this...and by the way lets talk auto-loan."

I have talked to a GTE rep on the phone....and they are well lets say a newby here is more credit savvy than they are.

As to improving to FICO past the current EXPERIAN 653....my CC companies have allready reported for the month of JUNE , JULY will not post untill AUGUST 12 or thereabouts the PROMOTION ENDS AUGUST 1.

I just hate the ASSUMPTION BANKS make upon people with less than perfect credit that they must have less than perfect sense.

ALSO WOULD FORD MOTOR CREDIT APPROVE THIS APP....AND IF SO DO THEY PULL EXPERIAN IN SOUTH WEST FLORIDA??

THANKS AGAIN FROM THE NUTTY FAMILY..........NUTTY OUT GETTING HURRRICANE SUPPLYS.....BEER&WINE...HOTDOGS, BURGERS FOR THE GRILL. SEE YA. THANKS ALL.
